Whether you’re starting therapy for the first time or have been in therapy before, you may be wondering about my policies and how I work. Below are the answers to some commonly asked questions:
Depending on what kind of health plan you have, you may be eligible for financial reimbursement towards your therapy bills. I am not currently an in-network provider for any insurance companies. If you have out-of-network mental health benefits, you may be able to submit claims to cover a large portion of your payment after you meet your deductible. If you are unsure about what benefits you have, the best thing to do is to contact your insurance company directly.

I feel strongly that psychotherapy should be financially accessible, and I do have a sliding fee scale. Please speak with me about your particular financial needs. If I cannot accommodate you, I would be more than happy to provide you with a referral to another clinician or a local community agency.
I hope that you will come to your sessions on a weekly basis. However, I know that sometimes circumstances arise that make it difficult to attend. I ask that you give me at least 48 hours notice if you have to cancel or reschedule your appointment in order to avoid financial responsibility for the missed session.
Please call or email me to arrange a time to speak on the phone. After gathering some basic information about you, we will set up a time to meet in person. If we are unable to work together, I would be happy to refer you to another psychotherapist who may be more able to meet your needs.
